Saluda Shoals Rope Course Challenge

As a group, the freshmen in ALA went to Saluda Shoals to complete a low ropes course, and other team activities.

We had to work in a cohesive group, and when that group is composed of people who are all very leadership oriented, that makes working together hard. Only one person could lead, so for some other people, it was hard to step down and try someone else's idea. A lot of the activities involved relying on teammates. For example, in the picture, one person was blindfolded, and the other was directing the blindfolded person to play a game of dodgeball. The person playing had to trust the other completely, without being able to see for themself. The guide had to be able to communicate to the person playing in a way that was understandable.

Virtual Team Challenge

The Virtual Team Challenge was a virtual simulation wherein students were required to interview and hire applicants to help clean up an oil spill in New City.

During this project, I learned a lot about teamwork, and depending on my classmates, as well as being trustworthy and helping them. I had to be able to make decisions and stick with them, and have enough evidence to support my choices.
